Trade Like a Douchebag: Don't Chase, Don't Hesitate, Don't Commit

If you want to day trade Bitcoin, crypto, stocks, or anything else, my first piece of advice sounds strange. You need to learn to be a womanizer, a player, a douchebag. I am dead serious. The three core principles of being a douchebag map perfectly onto day trading. First, they don't chase. No chasing highs or dumping lows like a headless fly chasing after a goddess who is already gone. Second, they don't hesitate. When the price hits your key level and gives you a signal, you don't refuse or hesitate. You accept it and pull the trigger. Third, and maybe most important, they don't take responsibility. That means absolutely no falling in love with your bag. No holding overnight. No matter how much you made or lost today, when the market closes, that's breakup time. Absolutely don't carry today's emotions into tomorrow.

This metaphor sets the tone for everything else. If you are planning to start your trading career in 2026, or if you are stuck in a losing streak right now, I will ditch all the complicated nonsense and give you the clearest, simplest path.

Stop Drowning in Technical Indicators

Most traders fall victim to analysis paralysis. They study Dow Theory, memorize Elliott Wave theory, master RSI, Bollinger Bands, MACD, and then their screen looks like a Picasso full of support lines, resistance lines, Fibonacci retracements, and trend channels. But if you really want to make a living from day trading, you have to forget all these technical indicators. Analysis paralysis is like having a huge toolbox but not knowing what to do with it. RSI tells you it's oversold and you have to buy now. MACD says it's a death cross, run. Meanwhile, Bollinger Bands say the reversal is coming. So you freeze. You don't do anything. The end result is you miss the entry, not the best entry, you miss an entry because you hesitated. Then you chase in panic at the peak or cut losses at the bottom like everyone else. And you don't want to be like everyone else in the market.

You think you lose money because you don't know enough, because you haven't read the books deeply enough. So you turn around, buy a new book, learn a new indicator, follow a new YouTuber. This is a death loop. If you don't break out from this loop, you will forever be part of the exit liquidity. The essence of day trading is not predicting the market. You don't need to know where Bitcoin is going tomorrow. You just need to know what to do if it hits a specific level. Most of the time, only one indicator, one trend line, or one support line is enough. One specific candlestick could be enough.

Confirmation: Price Action and Volume Only

So that's the first part. Whether you are a newbie or a veteran, you only need to focus on confirmation. Confirmation is what professional traders swear by, and it will be given to you by two things: price action and volume. That's it. Yes, that's it. It's that simple. Volume will tell you if a move is real or fake. Other indicators like RSI are secondhand processed versions of these two. They are just tools to try and predict specific points to watch. They will not really give you what will happen, but they tell you where to watch.

Rewire Your Core Beliefs

And here is the third part, and it is the soul of today's video. If you don't get this, don't even enter the market. You have to reshape your core beliefs. Three core beliefs in fact.

  • A winning trade may not be a good trade. If you hold through drawdowns, if you go all in gambling and get lucky with profits, you are digging your own grave because you will think the market rewarded your mistake. But the next time you will lose it all again plus more. The goal is to strictly plan your trades, set stop losses, and even if you lose money, it's a good trade because you focused on execution first. With time, profits will come because you don't bet on luck.
  • Don't bring your ego into the market. In life, we see losing or being wrong as bad. But in trading, losses are just your operating cost. It's a probability game. It's a number game. It's like running a coffee shop. You pay rent and utilities. Losses are your utilities. Just accept them.
  • Learn reverse calculation for position sizing. This is the biggest difference between losers and pros. Losers think, I will buy one bitcoin and then see how much I lose when it drops. Pros think, for this trade, I can only accept losing $100 max. So let's do the math. Suppose you enter and buy a crypto at $152. You put your stop loss at $150.5 and your max loss is $100. That means there is a $1.5 price risk. You divide 100 by 1.5 and the result is 66.6. So you can only buy 66.6 units of that crypto. That way, if it hits stop, you lose $100, dust off, and walk away. If it rises, you might make $300 depending on how high you set your take profit. All in all, that's just math.

The Magic of Risk to Reward Math

With that kind of calculation, even with just a 30% win rate you will still win. That's very important. Only 30% of trades you win, only 30% of cases, and you will still profit because your risk reward is one to three. You lose one, you win three. So even if you lose seven times and win three times with this rate, you will still be in profit. That's the magic of math. I once saw day traders on Twitter sharing tips claiming 90% win rates. That's impossible in the long term. Usually that's a scam to get your money, to buy a course or to join an exchange. More realistically, your rate will hover at 50%. But by controlling risk and the risk reward ratio, you will still be able to double your capital with such an average rate. That's math. I love math.

The Six Rules to Avoid Self-Sabotage

Finally, there is something even more important. Avoid doing the wrong things. It's more important than doing the right ones. Here are a few of my insights. I suggest sticking these on your monitor. Write them on a post it or something like that, because that's just what you need to do. Of course, you can add or tweak based on your habits, but in a nutshell:

  • Don't move your stop loss. Never.
  • Don't add to losing positions. I know you do.
  • Don't hold overnight.
  • Don't revenge trade. Don't get involved emotionally.
  • Don't trade on your phone. I see you there too.
  • Don't chase highs or dump lows.

Trading Is Risk Management, Not Prediction

Day trading focuses on managing risk rather than finding certainty, because nothing in this world is certain. Stop overthinking. If you want to day trade, just be a simple, cold, principled douchebag. Focus on price action, volume, position sizing math, and the discipline to follow your six rules. That is the clearest path I can give you.
