Level 1: The Never-Coiners, Hardcore Deniers
These people have an almost religious hatred for Bitcoin. They see it as a geek toy, digital Beanie Babies, and are convinced it will eventually go to zero or even negative. Peter Schiff is a perfect example: he understands gold completely but despises Bitcoin. Usually they either missed buying it when it was pennies and now need to crush it to feel okay, or their entire career depends on the old financial system that Bitcoin threatens to disrupt.
They are often the loudest critics because deep down they feel left behind. The harder they attack, the more they reveal their own fear of being wrong. Bitcoin does not need their approval, but their denial is a clear sign that they are still at the very bottom of the awareness ladder.
Level 2: The Bitcoin Traders, Short-Term Gamblers
They have dipped their toes in but only halfway. Their phones have eight exchanges open at all times, and they spend all day staring at technical indicators, which I like to call TA astrology. Their loyalty to Bitcoin is about as deep as a high school crush. They think they are the next Warren Buffett, but after trading fees, they often turn $500 into $487.
To Bitcoin, these people are just tourists treating the lifeboat like a casino ship. They have no real conviction, they just chase quick flips and get burned by their own impatience. The market eventually teaches them a lesson, but most never learn because they are too busy watching the next candle.
Level 3: The General Crypto Believers
Their favorite phrase is "technological innovation." They talk about it constantly, but their brain is like an open window where every pigeon poop and cigarette butt can fly right in. They may own a little Bitcoin, but they also hold every weird shitcoin, memecoin, and animal coin you can imagine.
To them, this is one big degen party rather than a financial revolution. They will admit that 99% of projects are scams, yet they still believe they are the ones who will beat the odds. They are constantly distracted by the next shiny token, and that distraction keeps them from ever building real wealth.
Level 4: The Bitcoin Maximalists
Congratulations, you have left the clown world and the anxiety that comes with it behind. Bitcoin maximalists believe only in Bitcoin because there is no second best. They have seen through the fiat system: it is just a small group of people running a printing club designed to slowly steal your purchasing power.
They view Bitcoin as the only money in the physical world, backed by real time and real energy. Sure, they can come across as intense or paranoid, but in this fake game we are all playing, paranoia is often the only way to see the truth clearly. Once you understand the fiat trap, you cannot unsee it.
Level 5: The True Bitcoin Holders, The Bitcoiners
Welcome to the big leagues. Satoshi himself said, "If you don't believe it, I don't have time to convince you." These people don't need podcasts to feel validated anymore. They are too busy living their life, running nodes at home, or maybe even mining.
They have put the vast majority of their net worth into Bitcoin and they sleep like babies every night. Why? Because they understand this is the one asset that even if someone puts a gun to your head, nobody can actually take away from you. That is true financial sovereignty, and it changes the way you think about everything.
Level 6: The Cypherpunks, The Builders
These are the architects of this whole thing. While you were still playing mobile games or computer games in 2010, they were already teaching in empty rooms. They built defenses with VPNs, with TOR, with code. They believe privacy is the power to selectively reveal yourself to the world.
They don't just own Bitcoin and they haven't just created Bitcoin. They are actively building the tools that made Bitcoin and that make Bitcoin stronger today. Without them, the entire system would be far more fragile and far less private.
Level 7: Enlightenment, The Ultimate Level
This is the most mysterious level. They might hold massive amounts of Bitcoin, but you will never hear them talk about it anymore. They don't wear Bitcoin t-shirts and they don't need to prove to the world that they were right.
They simply built themselves the perfect savings account, then turned around and went to live the most dignified life possible. Satoshi Nakamoto is the ultimate example: create a system that changes the world, then just walk away quietly. No victory lap, no need for applause.
Where Do You Rank?
Honestly, it doesn't really matter which level you are on right now. What matters is whether you are climbing up or not. The seven levels are not a judgment, they are a map. Each step requires more understanding, more conviction, and more personal responsibility.
If you are still at level one, ask yourself why you feel such strong resistance. If you are at level three, you might be one honest look away from realizing that most altcoins are just distractions. If you are already at level five or six, keep building and keep your privacy close. The climb is real, and every level you leave behind reduces the noise and increases your freedom.
